Jacques Henri Lartigue

While Travelling through Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris recently
I was struck by the large photographs on show by
I was unfamiliar with his work
He was known as an artist and really only gained acclaim as a photographer in his 70's
Born in 1894 his is an Inspiring story
It's never too late
His images are so modern and fresh
and unlike any I have come across

Turn your Latte into Art

In Dublin a Latte will cost you €3 (average)
1 a day for a week = €21
If you made your coffee at home for 3 weeks
and you could hang this on your wall

Monstera Silk screen print by Wayne Pate

or this

six teapots by Wayne Pate

or this (you would have to abstain for 4 weeks for this one)
Still Life with Flowers and Moth By Bella Foster

I love this print of Central Park also by Bella Foster
which unfortunately is sold out

Frame them in an IKEA Ribba frame
no coffee for 1 week
and you have framed original Art on your walls for a couple of Cappucinno's

To Purchase any of these prints go

Donya Coward

Just came across the work of
You know that feeling when you see something and your heart races
Almost like a little panic attack.......
A panic attack about just how exquisite something is.....
well,
Donya uses vintage lace and beading to create these

The magpie above and Zebra are my favourites
The eyelashes..... !

Intricate and exquisite

Dana Tanamachi

Wouldn't it be fun to reply
"chalk Letterer"
when asked at a party
"what do you do?"
Well, that is exactly what Dana Tanamachi can say

I love the idea of a backdrop for your wedding pics

August Sander and life

I have not yet been hooked up to the 21st century again.
I am thinking internet will be up and running in about a week
so please excuse the lack of posts
I will be back with gusto and have many photos and thoughts on the change
from Brooklyn NY to Rural Ireland
Lots of exciting things going on and I am sure that the move back was the right thing to do

In moments my life went from Subway commute to a walk in the woods
Lots of baking and chutney making
Ordering chickens for the garden
...but don't worry I haven't put down the design brush
I have been busy working on a very exciting new project

In the process of doing some research for this exciting new project I came across
the beautiful works of
and had to post them
please bear with me until regular posting is back up and running

japanese ceramics

I have always been drawn to the Japanese aesthetic
but I think being back in New York and bombarded with stimuli
makes me yearn for the simplicity and rawness of this even more

and these Japanese ceramics from
are making me rethink my career path

Roman and Williams

I have been hearing so much about The ACE Hotel
and have yet to get there
....it's on my to do list

When Abigail Ahern of ATELIER Abigail Ahern
mentioned the designers
the other day on her blog
It needed some further investigation

Which led me to this video on

definitely worth the watch

"It's a shame to only have dreams at night, you should have opportunities during the day"
says Stephen Alesch

What they create are timeless interiors
drawing on influences from Classical Architecture,
Asia, India and all with a heavy emphasis on texture
I love when they talk in the video about texture and how important it is to them,
how the Arts have such a heavy focus on visual stimulus and how how limiting that seems to them.

Their interiors also have a touch of whimsy and humour so nothing feels really precious
but like somewhere you could really live
eat
work
create
which is what a modern home should be

You can also read
about her studio visit to Roman and Williams.
